Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade
The Sandvik stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel that can undergo heat treatment to achieve its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which provides a very satisfactory edge without being susceptible to corrosion.
Natural Varnished Hornbeam Handle
Hornbeam comes from French forests. It is a white wood with little grain, ideal for applying colors without altering them. The handle is varnished to better protect it against moisture and dirt.
