Varnished beech handle: Beech covers approximately 10% of French forests. It is one of the most elegant trees, with a smooth trunk and dense foliage that prunes very well. White or very pale brown in color, its grain is fine and its structure is homogeneous with straight grain. Beech wood is one of the most resistant woods.

Equipped with the Virobloc double safety system: All Opinel folding knives are equipped with the patented Virobloc system, with the exception of the small Traditional sizes. Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, this stainless steel safety ring locks the blade in the open position (for safe use). Today, the Virobloc also locks the blade in the closed position (for safe transport).
